NESTA Neighbourhood Challenge and Lower Green (Esher Neighbourhood Fund)

The Community Foundation for Surrey, a charitable trust working with the Lower Green community in Esher, has been chosen as one of 16 community organisations across England to take part in a pioneering national programme designed to help local people tackle some of their most important issues. The Neighbourhood Challenge programme is being run by the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) with support from the Big Lottery Fund. The programme will work with community organisations and community organisers to demonstrate how people, when equipped with the right skills and small amounts of money, can devise new and imaginative ways to get people involved in tackling local issues together.

For more information on how to get involved, raising funds and the latest news, see the Esher Neighbourhood Fund web site.

was begun in 2009 by the Department for Social Responsibility of the Church of England Diocese of Guildford in partnership with Surrey County Council. It seeks to build good relationships between Faith organisations and other sectors, particularly local authorities, public services and voluntary and community groups so that together they may better serve the people and places of Surrey.
