Services

Details of all our Sunday and Weekday services are available from the display inside the front entrance of the church and in the calendar. Please contact the vicar through the Parish Office to arrange a baptism, wedding or funeral, the calling of banns of marriage or communion at home.

This is our main Sunday service with music lead by the organist and a robed choir, entertaining and informative sermons on the gospels and Christian doctrine, and a friendly atmosphere. There is a Junior Church in the church hall for children from 4 to 11 years old and a creche for the very young (see Children and Youth).

MONTHLY

1st Sunday of each month
9.45 am Family Communion
                                 An informal and lively service for all the family with songs and hymns led by the music group. Soft toys are provided for the very young and, although all ages are encouraged to join in, there is a creche in the church hall.        

6.00 pm

A quiet reflective eucharist with a chance to be still and meet with God

6.00 pm Choral Evensong (except for December and August)
               

Celebrated according to the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, Choral Evensong has a dignity and beauty that goes hand in hand with English churches and cathedrals. Whether it is heard on a summer's evening or in the depths of winter, this simple service reaches out across the centuries and gives you some of the best food for the soul that you can get, no matter if you are religious or not. The best of traditional anglican choral music is sung by an enhanced choir.

A service especially for the needs of younger children, who sing, play musical instuments, listen to stories, say prayers and join in an activity. Coffee, juice and biscuits are served in the church hall  afterwards, giving parents and carers an opportunity to socialise while the children play on a soft mat with toys.

1st Friday of each month
9.45 am POP (Power of Prayer) Group
    An informal group meet in the Lady chapel to talk and pray through the needs of our church, the prayers on the prayer tree and any other requests you may have. Please come and join us if you can. if you would like us to pray about something specific, please let us know and we will include them in our prayers. These will remain confidential to the group.
